Activism

The MBPOA is very active in the betterment of our community. We work very hard crossing the Island, State and even down to the Nation's Capitol to make sure Mastic Beach's needs are met by our government and private investors. We fight for the environment and the member interests of the M.B.P.O.A. 

Committees, Task Forces and other Group Involvement:

• 2018 - Quality of Life Committee for the betterment of Mastic Beach
• 2016 Mastic Beach Village Comprehensive Plan representing our members.
• St. Jude Shrine Church Capital Campaign — representing our members.
• 2014 New York Rising Community Reconstruction Plan — representing our members.
• Since 2011 A Tri-Hamlet Day — Point of Interest and rest area.
• 2030 Town Of Brookhaven New York Comprehensive Plan, year one — representing the 6th District
• Downtown Revitalization Citizens' Advisory Panel — representing the 3rd Legislative District
• Save the Forge River Task Force
• Sea Level Task Force — representing Mastic Beach and the Mastic Peninsula
• South Shore Estuary Reserve Task Force.

Grants:

• $1,000,000 for Town of Brookhaven Neighborhood Road Revitalization — sidewalks, streetlights, town square, benches, trash receptacles, flower boxes, street signs, gazebo (Mastic Beach)
• $30,000 for security cameras on Montauk Highway (Mastic and Shirley) and Neighborhood Road (Mastic Beach)
• $50,000 for engineering study and design of Town of Brookhaven Bayview Park (Mastic Beach)
• $100,000 for a new parking lot near William Floyd High School (Mastic Beach)
• $5,000 for music entertainment at planned local MBPOA events.
